Here’s a question: what can you imagine yourself doing in your late seventies? I’m guessing bungee jumping is out. Bingo is a valid option. How about hitting the stage to sing some soul music? I mean really sing. It’s not like he’s new to it. At 17, he was already deep-diving into the music of Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and Mahalia Jackson. In the '70s, he moved to Los Angeles and wrote songs for Three Dog Night, Ben Vereen, Ivan Neville, Melissa Manchester, and many others.
